männer / men

korea ist für einige dinge bekannt. eines davon ist das allgemeine gerücht, dass es hier keine schwulen gibt. die gibt es natürlich und das sogar reichlich. aber punkt ist, dass sie in der koreanischen gesellschaft einfach nicht auffallen. die art wie männer hier miteinander umgehen ist einfach mal eben komplett anders. wenn man abends weggeht wird man ständig von irgendnem kerl umarmt oder stellt plötzlich in einer bar sitzend fest, dass die hand eines mannes einem dezent das knie streichelt. ich hatte bis jetzt das große glück solchen situationen größtenteils aus dem weg gehen zu können, aber es scheint hier gang und gäbe zu sein. das gleiche gilt für die mode. von der art der klamotten mal ganz abzusehen (die zum teil grauenvoll ist), gibt es hier mittlerweile sogar „männertaschen“ – aus schwarzem glanzleder -_-. heute habe ich jedoch einen höhepunkt erlebt und auf einem foto festgehalten, jeder darf selbst raten was der nette herr da auf dem bild macht… das nennt man wohl „verweiblichung der gesellschaft“.

korea is well known for some things. one of them is the rumor that there are no gays in korea. of course there are a lot of them, but the point is that they are hardly noticed in this society. the way how men treat each other is completely different. going out it is usual to be hugged by other guys or one can just notice while sitting in a bar and having a drink, that a hand of some other guy is touching your knee. until know, i had a lot of luck avoiding such kind of situations, but it seems to be very usual here. despite the kind of fashion for men (which is partly really just awfull) i already noticed a new trend: kind of bags for men, made of black sparkling leather -_-. but today all this experiences reached a new climax and i was able to get it on a picture. perhaps all of you can imagine for yourself, what this guy is doing there… i thing this is called „womanizing of a society“.

ein paar weitere dinge, die ich gerne zu tokio loswerden würde. das eine ist, das ubahn- bzw. metronetz. die verschiedenen linien die sich durch die stadt ziehen und alle winkel tokios miteinander verbinden scheinen von verschiedenen betreibern geführt zu sein, denn ich brauche jedesmal andere fahrkarten, wenn ich von einem netz ins andere umsteige. auf manchen linien gibt es dann wie in seoul aufladbare elektronische karten, auf anderen linien wiederum gibt es diese nicht. verwirrend jedoch man kann sich dran gewöhnen. aus seoul ist man dann jedoch schon ein wenig „verwöhnt“. andererseits find ich es wirklich schön nicht mehr von verrückten moped-fahrern auf dem bürgersteig angehupt zu werden und im gegensatz zu seoul trauen sich hier so ziemlich alle fahrrad zu fahren. auch sehr schön sind die doch recht zahlreichen parks hier, die insgesamt wohl auch dazu beitragen, dass die luftverschmutzung auf einem vernünftigen niveau ist. was mir auch aufgefallen ist, sind die unglaublich vielen jugendlichen, die sich am liebsten vor den vollverglasten bürogebäuden in der city treffen und dort vorzugsweise hip-hop-dance oder breakdance üben. weniger positiv gefallen mir wiederum die sogenannten „hosts“, ich nenne sie „freaks“. sie sind leider genau das, was unsere japanstudenten so lieben: haare 10 meter in die luft in alle himmelsrichtungen und das in vielen bunten farben, dunkle klamotten, lange mäntel, viel metall und das überall…einfach nur „freaks“. insgesamt muss ich jedoch zugeben, das mir seoul bisher besser gefallen hat, was jedoch eventuell auch an der verständigungsfähigkeit liegen kann, die für mich in korea deutlich einfacher ist.

a few more things that i would like to say about tokio. one thing is about the subway or metro system. all the different lines that are spread throughout the city and connect every part of it seem to be managed by different companies or providers, because everytime i have to change the line i also need a different ticket to go on. on some lines there is kind of the same system like in seoul with electronical-rechargeable cards, on other lines this system does not exist. confusing but one can get used to it. coming from seoul one is kind of „spoiled“ with a more modern system. on the other hand it is very nice not be disturbed or almost „driven over“ by the crazy bicycle-drivers on the sidewalks and in contrast to seoul a lot of people have the courage to go by bike. also one can find quite a lot of small parks and public gardens which are supporting the city in keeping it’s airpollution on a quite low-level. furthermore i noticed something interesting. especially a lot of young people like teenagers seem to like to meet in front of the big full-glas-office-buildings in the city and to practice there mainly hip-hop-dance or breakdance. another thing that i have to mention are the so called „hosts“, i call them „freaks“. they are exactly what our japanese-students in germany like so much: hair up 10 m into the air in all possible directions and this in many different colours, dark clothes, long coats, a lot of metall everywhere… simply „freaks“. but altogether i have to say, that i like seoul more. perhaps one of the reasons for this is the communication which is still much easier for me in korea.

da bin ich nun in korea… heute um 5.00 uhr morgens aufgestanden und die allererste maschine nach seoul genommen, so viel zeug erledigt und nun sitz ich in meinem zimmer und fühl mich einfach nur ko…

als ich vor 10 tagen in korea ankam waren die ersten worte meines begleiters (hallo jan): „seltsam dich hier zu sehen, du gehörst nich hierher“. nur wenige minuten später war ich dann auch schon auf dem weg nach japan und verbrachte dort sehr schöne, wenn auch kullinarisch eher abschtoßende tage. jetzt bin ich wieder in korea und… es geht mir eigentlich gut… aber ich bin einfach so verdammt müde…

mein aufenthalt in japan die letzten 10 tage war nur zum teil entspannend, ich habe an hausarbeiten gesessen. jetzt hab ich bald den koreanisch test und muss noch 2 hausarbeiten fertig schreiben und noch so viel bürokramm erledigen… ich brauch ferien… wirkliche ferien…

마지막으로 도착했습니다

ja, heute bin ich endlich in korea angekommen. gleich am ersten tag erledigte ich eine menge formalitäten bezüglich der uni, einchecken im studentenwohnheim und bankkonto. im studentenwohnheim gab es auch gleich viel arbeit nach dem ersten schock: das zimmer sah gar nich aus wie auf den bildern im internet aber jetzt ist es in ordnung. mein zimmergenosse ist ein fleissiger chinese der aber einen sehr korrekten eindruck macht, mit ihm halt ich es auf jeden fall problemlos ein halbes jahr aus, danach mal sehen… und endlich gutes essen…. das zeug aus tokio wollt ich echt nich mehr. mein begleiter hat jetzt auch nen namen: ab heute nennt er sich „panthai“.

yeah, so finally i did arrive in korea. on the first day i already managed a lot of important things about the university, checked in into the dormitory and opened a bank account. in the student dormitory i also had a lot to do after the first shock: it really does not look like on the pictures in the internet but now it’s just fine. my roommate seems to be quite correct, no problem to hang out around together for one semester, after that, we’ll see… and finally i get good food… couldn’t stand this tokio-stuff anymore. and my „travelmate“ has finally get a name: from now on he is called „panthai“.
