erste statistiken

so, habe heute meine übersetzung eingereicht. fertig. das war die letzte hausarbeit, mehr gibts nicht. waren sicherlich noch ein paar kleine fehler drin, aber das ist in ordnung. jetzt bleibt nur noch eine klausur in japanischer wirtschaft nächste woche und die BA arbeit – dann ist ALLES vorbei. ich bin gerade hochmotiviert und verbringe wortwörtlich ganze nächte nur mit lesen und tippen. macht spass wenn man das ende kommen sieht.

nun aber zu weniger erfreulichem. das koreanische statistikamt hat nun erste zahlen der letzten monate veröffentlicht. das ganze wurde recht ausgiebig in folgendem artikel erörtert. wenn man bedenkt, dass das gerade mal der anfang ist, kann man sich ja schon auf die zahlen der nächsten monate freuen… bin wirklich gespannt. was aber sowohl für korea als auch jedes andere land gilt: so eine krise kann man auch als chance nutzen. nicht nur, dass so eine krise in der regel eine (so grausam es klingt) bereinigende wirkung hat, da entstehen dann auch so interessante sachen wie zum beispiel das von obama neu eingeführte instrument zur steigerung der transparenz der politik-arbeit. die internetseite http://www.recovery.gov soll in zukunft jede ausgabe des staates zur bewältigung der wirtschaftskrise dokumentieren. ob es so viel bringt sei mal dahin gestellt, aber die idee ist klasse. so etwas sollten sich unsere politiker auch mal zu herzen nehmen, anstatt über die aufnahme von guantanamo flüchtlingen zu debattieren – vor allem weil die usa noch nicht einmal um diese form der unterstützung gebeten hat.

heute noch eine vokabel die in normalen wörterbüchern nur selten drin steht, die ich aber heute kennengelernt habe: 쌍절곤. und was ist das? hier die antwort:ein nunchaku ^ ^

tired

nowadays, i feel really exhausted. for example 2 days before, after finishing the morning shift (6 am to 4.30 pm) and grabbing some food i fell asleep at 6 pm and slept straight untill 5 am the next day. also today, after the morning shift first i had to take a nap otherwise i wouldnt be able to stand the day and then went to sinchon cause had an important appointment there.

on the way back in the super-full-subway, suddenly i heard this well known tone that appears from time to time when you are a foreigner in korea: „where are you from?“ i turned my head with the i-am-not-in-the-mood-for-a-lets-practice-english-conversation-face and then got surprised: such a beatiful lady but definitely not korean. so after some small talk we exchanged numbers and i got to know that she is malaysian and work / study here. really funny thing, its always that few days before i leave here, i meet someone new…

anyway, today i would like to teach you a nowadays quite common expression in korea:

그런 말은 개나줘버려!

to translate it friendly it would be something like: „i do not need your advice“, but in fact its really bad language and definitely not for common use to people you are not friend with, despite you want to have a fight. the word 말 can of course be replaced by anything else, for example 것 or anything else you had a talk about.

also, nowadays one of my favourite korean words is: 오히려. it means „in contrary“ or „instead“. the reason i like this word is… it sounds sooooo japanese and reminds me so much of streetfighter cause this is what ryu and ken were always shouting when throwing an opponent… haha, yeah… well, i should go to sleep.

ok, in a language institute you can learn a lot of usefull expressions, grammar, read newspapers and discuss about different subjects – but when you meet up with friends, you notice very fast that no matter which level you reached during your studies, there will always be words you just dont understand. it can be slang, it can be a recently famous expression, it can be an insider – anyway you cant learn this words in a language institute.

so, from time to time, i will present you some usefull vocabulary exactly of this type. have fun  today just a small list:

밉상 – a person you hate very much
화상 – a person you hate more then a 밉상
진상 – a person you hate more then a 화상
저팔계 – there is famous chinese novel with a pig called like this -> bad word for 돼지
된장녀 – bad word for the „i-am-so-fine“ girls especially from the 강남 area

ok, enough bad words for today. now some usefull stuff for food:

아침밥 – breakfast
점심밥 – lunch
저녁밥 – dinner
야식 – food late at night
후식 – dessert
간식 – a snack
군것질 – same meaning like 간식
